If you're asking what program I use, no. I use Poser- currently Poser 9.

! As soon as my desktop computer is done getting upgrades & repairs, I'll be using Poser Pro 9 for the first time.
I bought it when Smith Micro had that nice sale last year. It hasn't been used since the buddy working on my desktop is taking his sweet time on the job, and I think it's use is best on a computer with a bigger hard drive than my laptop has. Any advice for a new user? I once saw the layout to Poser Debut "9" I think. It reminded me of Anime Studio's layout combined with Bryce's camera controls.

Start simple. Like posing a single figure. Get that to where you're comfortable with it, then ad props until you're working with a whole scene. Play with the lights- you'll find they're very easy to position and set-up. Don't think you have to buy everything you need. There are A LOT of freebie sources out there. Nova Trek is over 95% freebies.
One of the good things about Poser- and this has always been the case- is that you can set up the work screen anyway you want. If you don't need a panel of tools, turn it off. If you'd rather have the camera controls on the left instead of the right, you can move them. In this respect, it's a very flexible program.
You definitely want a large drive- and lots of memory. I have 8GBs of memory on my art comp- and a 500GB drive with a quad core processor.

Even with my new laptop which is about 250GB I knew before your statement it wouldn't do the program justice when you also count in saving to my favorite computer video format AVI uncompressed. Add in a mid-high level video editor and other creative software to that.

You're talking animation and video. That's stuff I've very rarely dealt with. It usually takes longer than I want to give it.
